Today we got Demaree all signed up for The Milan Institute for the Cosmotology course, she passed her test, and I passed my financial application. LOL I was really hoping I wouldn't, because then most of the loan would be on Demaree. She has some Pell grant, but most of it is her student loan and then our parent loan. She has to pay her portion starting 6 months after she graduates (in 13 months) and then we have to start paying ours back in about 4 months. So I'm happy for her, but also stressed... we really can't afford it... not sure what is going to happen... but she's going to college and on her way to earning her OWN WAY in life..
We are putting a hold on Fresno State.. our portion on that college was even more, and overlapped with Milan College. She has to go three days a week, 8 - 6:30 p.m., no homework. Mon-Wed or Thursday-Saturday. She picked Thurs-Sat. Then she can work the rest of the week. Which I told her she HAS to do to pay for gas back and forth. Anyways, part of Milan's ciriculum is to teach them business essentials for owning their own business, and that's part of why she wanted to go to Fresno State.. this is just a quicker way and she can start working in her field in 13 months vs 4 years of having to take courses that don't mean anything.
